A manger scene of heirloom quality, this very large indoor Nativity set is the work of world renowned Nativity artisan Jeries Facouseh. The Facouseh olive wood carving factory, where this spectacular olive wood Nativity set is hand carved, is located on Manger Street not far from the site where the Lord Jesus was born. The 20 piece set of Nativity figures includes of course the Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and 3 wise men, 6 stable animals, a woman with a waterpot, angels and shepherds. What you may not notice at first glance is the dress of 2 of the shepherds which is very unique for that day and that one of the angels is hovering overhead (suspended by a small wire).
No Holy Land olive trees are destroyed in the carving of the very large olive wood Nativity set, as we use prunings from these sometimes centuries old trees that have played such a prominent role in the life of residents of the Holy Land.
