This wooden carving of the Pieta is masterfully handcrafted by the premier Catholic statue artisan of Bethlehem, Jeries Facouseh. The lovely Pieta statue is hand carved from Holy Land olive wood in the Facouseh workshop, not far from the Church of Nativity (This Church is built over the site where the Lord Jesus was born). The Pieta statue features life like detail and with each statue being hand carved, no two statues are exactly the same.

The Holy Land olive wood used to carve this lovely Pieta statue is from the Galilee region, where the Lord Jesus spent much of His earthly life. The olive wood for our statues is from prunings of Holy land olive trees and no trees are destroyed in the process.
