This beautiful hand carved olive wood statue of Jesus Carrying the Cross is lovingly sculpted by our Christian olive wood craftsmen in the Holy City of Bethlehem in the Holy Land. This special olive wood figure shows Jesus slightly stooped over as the cross became heavy to bear. Hand carved from one piece of olivewood, we can see the crown of thorns, the anquished face of Jesus, the robe that was placed on Him and can imagine the humiliation He endured on His way to Calvary. The olivewood cross is made separately and placed in His hands with the crossbeam resting on His shoulder. Very heart stirring and humbling depiction. The olivewood grain is wonderfully displayed as well as every detail of the carving by the fine protective and finishing polyurethane that is applied to complete this olive wood statue.
