The 12 piece set of figurines that comes with this exquisite Christmas Nativity set include the Baby Jesus, the manger, Mary, Joseph, 3 wise men, 1 shepherd and 4 animals. The entire Nativity set is made from Holy Land olive wood except for the Christmas Nativity candle which is made of ceramic. The Nativity stable roof is made from blocks of the beautiful Holy Land olive wood with the bark still attached. It is supported by 2 small logs. The rest of the Christmas Nativity stable is made from smooth blocks of wood fiited together beautifully.
A Christmas Nativity set is sometimes called a Christmas manger scene. While this is true, many confuse the manger with the Nativity stable. The manger was the feeding trough that Mary used for a bed for Baby Jesus and the stable was the structure where He was born.
This beautiful Christmas Nativity set is hand carved in the Bethlehem workshop of our dear friend, Jeries Facouseh. Jeries is the premier Nativity artisan of the Holy Land. His shop is on Manger Street in Bethlehem, about a 10 minute walk from the Church of Nativity, built over the site where the Lord Jesus was born. The wood that Jeries uses for this Christmas Nativity set is Galilee olive wood, where the Lord Jesus based His ministry.
