The plaque reads "BETHLEHEM" as this is the birthplace of Christ and where this lovely statuette is made. At the bottom of the statuette is an inset glass container with Holy Land frankincense. The lovely backdrop of the stable is shaped like a Christmas tree and a palm tree is on the left.
This standing nativity scene is made by hand in the Holy Land (Israel) in the biblical Bethlehem carving shop of Christian artisan Jeries Facouseh. A truly delightful piece they are handcrafted with the olive wood bark left intact to give a rustic look. We offer these small Nativity scenes to buy individually or to buy in bulk with a graduated volume discount price.
Each nativity piece will vary slightly due to the natural grain of the olive wood. Our indoor Nativity scenes are hand carved in the Facouseh carving shop on Manger Street in Bethlehem, just a few minutes’ walk from where Christ was born. The figurines are beautifully detailed. The olive wood is sourced from the Galilee region of Israel, where the Lord Jesus spent much of His earthly life.
