This  exquisite olive wood wall statue of the Virgin Mary depicts the Blessed Mother with her hands clasped in prayer and her eyes gazing downward. She is lovely to look at from every angle. Her garments in particular are beautifully carved with the finest detail. Her veil drapes over her shoulders in an almost life-like manner. Her face too is gorgeous with a serene loving expression. The base of the wall plaque is carved with pretty rounded shape accents. And there is an overall basketweave effect to the carvings. Simply stunning!

The statue is individually hand-carved from Holy Land olive wood by the premier Catholic statue artisan of the Holy Land,Jeries Facouseh. The Facouseh workshop, where this Virgin Mary statue is carved, is a short walk from the site where the Virgin Mary gave birth to the Lord Jesus in Bethlehem.
