His olive wood carving shop, where these lovely Virgin Mary statues are carved, is on Manger Street in Bethlehem, not far from the site where the Virgin Mary gave birth to the Lord Jesus. The Holy Land olive wood that Jeries uses to carve these lovely statues of the Virgin Mary is from the Galilee region, where the Virgin Mary spent much of her life. Each of these olive wood Virgin Mary statues are carved from prunings of Holy Land olive trees, a practice that preserves the life of these lovely and sometimes centuries old trees.
